Make clean the scanner drinking glass, scanning strip, and automated document feeder (ADF) duplex background

The scanner glass, scanning strip, and ADF duplex groundwork should be cleaned periodically or any fourth dimension a scanned image has streaks.

To make clean these components, follow these steps:

Press the Power () button to turn off the scanner, then disconnect the USB cable and ability supply from the scanner.
Open the scanner lid.
Make clean the scanner glass and scanning strip with a soft, lint-free cloth that has been sprayed with a mild glass cleaner.

Use only glass cleaner to make clean the scanner glass and scanning strip. Avoid cleaners that comprise abrasives, acetone, benzene, and carbon tetrachloride, all of which can impairment the scanner glass. Avoid isopropyl alcohol because it can leave streaks on the drinking glass.

Practise non spray the glass cleaner directly on the scanner drinking glass or scanning strip. If too much glass cleaner is applied, the cleaner could leak under the scanner glass or scanning strip and harm the scanner.
Dry the drinking glass with a dry, soft, lint-free cloth.
Shut the scanner lid, and then raise the scanner input tray until it is perpendicular to the scanner.

Press in on the ADF duplex background tabs to release the ADF duplex background, and and so pull forward to remove the ADF duplex groundwork from its housing.

Wipe the ADF duplex background with a soft, lint-free textile that has been moistened with warm water.
Dry the ADF duplex background with a dry, soft, lint-gratuitous cloth, and so slide the component into its housing until information technology clicks into place.
Lower the scanner input tray into identify, and then reconnect the USB cable and power supply to the scanner.
